Fall is the season for shaping up!

The days are getting shorter, the temperatures and dropping, and the leaves are changing colors and falling from the trees. Fall is full of changes but that does not mean that your workouts have to suffer! Instead of letting fall be your excuse for slowing down your exercising, look for the opportunities to renew your routines!

1. Join a Team. Team Future is the Kids Fit Foundation's fundraising and training program. Whether you are ready for the challenge of a 1/2 marathon or want to take on your first 5k you can make every mile count by joining Team Future. It is always more fun to have a group to run with and encourage you along the way, plus you would be running for a great cause!

2. Switch it up. It does not matter the season, it is always important to change your workout routine some way. Trick your body, do not let it adapt to the same mode of exercise! This season change is a great time to add new twists to your routine!

3. Layer up and stay hydrated. If you continue to train outside while the temperatures keep dropping make sure you layer up to stay warm. Our body temperature fluctuates more when exercising in the cold so be aware! Sweating in cooler temperatures can be dangerous so keep your layers handy and be sure to stay hydrated. In the cold you usually do not want to hydrate with cold water, but be sure to replenish the fluids lost in your breathe and perspiration.
